Maltepe Cumhuriyet Park – Urban Park and Recreation Area Project

<p>Designed by our team in 2018, Maltepe Cumhuriyet Park is one of the largest green areas on the Asian side of Istanbul and represents a major urban open space and landscape project. Approximately 65% of the total area was organized as social and recreational facilities for public use.</p><p>The project aimed to create a safe, accessible and multifunctional urban park, integrating walking paths, jogging tracks, children’s playgrounds and resting areas within a holistic landscape design approach. A 4,500 m² artificial pond located at the center of the park, together with two viewing terraces, was designed as the main focal point of the project.</p><p>The program includes a 500-seat open-air amphitheater for cultural events, a 400 m² children’s playground, a 900 m² jogging track, baby care rooms and accessible restrooms designed in accordance with universal design principles. All spaces were planned to ensure accessibility, user comfort and social interaction.</p><p>As a result, Maltepe gained a large-scale, safe and multifunctional urban park that supports social life, recreation and cultural activities while being fully integrated with the natural landscape.</p>
