At the Kurşunlu Thermal Springs site in Bursa, the architectural redesign and master planning of the existing natural thermal pool area were carried out by our team as a comprehensive re-design and wellness resort development project.

The design approach aimed to preserve the existing terraced natural thermal pool formations while enhancing spatial quality, user comfort and the touristic potential of the site through a holistic master planning strategy. Natural topography, thermal water flows and the existing landscape texture were taken as primary design references, and architectural interventions were developed in harmony with the natural environment with a minimum intervention principle.

The main thermal pool zone was redesigned with layered waterfall-style pools, panoramic viewing terraces and a centrally located social facility. Pool geometries, water circulation and user movement patterns were integrated to create a visually and functionally strong thermal experience environment.

The project also includes private thermal accommodation units (spa suites / bungalows), individual open and semi-open thermal pools, relaxation areas and comprehensive landscape design. Interior spaces were shaped with natural stone textures, organic forms, transparent façades and strong indoor–outdoor continuity, allowing users to experience a direct connection with nature and thermal water.

As a result, Kurşunlu Thermal Springs was transformed into a contemporary wellness and health tourism destination, integrated with the natural landscape and designed according to international standards of thermal resort architecture.
